Hey friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. My weekended was great. I got to have some fun girl time at a friends bridal shower, spend some time with family that was in town, and watch my brother complete his first 70.3 Ironman. Such a wonderful accomplishment and I am so proud of him.
Today I wanted to share with you my favorite lotion these days. I am big on reducing any extra toxins that I can in my home cleaning products, skin care products and food as well. We can get into home cleaning and food another day but today lets take about skin care. Many skin care products out there have added chemicals and toxins that our body has to work extra hard to dispose of. While a little daily lotion does not seem like much just think of all the other things that touch your skin, or that you put on your body. Shampoo/Conditioner, face wash, makeup, etc. It all adds up and then you can throw in what you cleaned your house with, what you ate, and then environmental things that you have no control over and BOOM… Toxic overload. Toxic overload looks different on everyone. Here is an article for symptoms of toxic overload if you are interested. It gives some great information. One of the ways I reduce toxicity in my life is with the lotion I chose to use for myself and my loved ones. I love it because it is simple, soothing, smells amazing and you can taylor it to your liking too.
Here is what you will need:
1.Small Mason Jar
2.Coconut Oil– known for its moisturizing benefits will leave you with soft glowing skin.
3. Lavender Essential Oil from Young Living (or other YL oil of choice) calming and great for your skin
Once you have all your supplies you will add coconut oil to the jar leaving a little room at the top, then add about 10-15 drops of Essential Oils to the coconut oil, stir and apply. I usually apply this after my nightly showers, and then in the morning once I am ready for my day. These ingredients are natural and do not add toxins to your body. Take little steps to get as much toxicity out of your life as you can. Over the last several years a I have slowly done more and more to have a chemical free home, and about 6 months ago I invested more into my health and bought the Young Living Premium Starter Kit and one of my favorite ways to use them is in my skin care and house hold products. Essential Oils are a great way to invest in your health and get toxic chemical out of your home. If you would like to learn more with me about essential oils please join me on Tuesday the 19th for a Intro to Essential Oils virtual Facebook class. Click here to RSVP. Please message me if you have any other questions about Essential Oils or if you would like to go ahead and order your oils now click on the link above, or here.
I hope you all have a wonderful week. Make sure you fit in time for yourself, get outdoors and walk, do one thing to reduce toxins in your life, and eat more plants.
